It's not just inner-city children who often miss out on the benefits and learning resources of the countryside, every child's school life would be enriched by connecting with and understanding more about the natural world. A programme to bring the countryside into the classroom, and to take the children out to the countryside, is run by The Countryside Foundation. Alternatively, check out your local council or tourism information website for details of local environment centres, parks and woods. Friends of the Earth also has a list of "wild places" : Friends of the Earth.
